St. John's-wort :

 The most used and effective plant in the treatment of depression and anxiety. Its name is derived from St. John's Day, June 24, in which the flowers of plants bloom while, "Wort" means in the old English language plant, this plant is distinguished by its yellow star-shaped flowers, which turn red when touched and bruised, Its beautiful flowers contribute to alleviating enough suffering from depression and feeling more happy.
 Historically, the herb is considered the most popular used for the treatment of anxiety and depression, as modern science has proven its effectiveness, and we do not forget its effective role in improving the quality of sleep. 
Through the clinical studies that have been completed, it was found that this plant contains among its components hypericin, which is one of the active compounds that greatly improves the condition of people suffering from anxiety, depression and deficiency, more effective than some pharmaceutical medicines such as Elavil and Tofranil, and most importantly, its side effects are few or almost non-existent, which makes St. John's wort an ideal plant for treating depression and anxiety.

For greater efficacy in treating depression and anxiety and with fewer side effects, 1 to 2 teaspoons of St-john's-wort is dried in a cup of boiling water for ten minutes. Drink one or two cups of tea per day for four to six weeks.

Avoid this herb during pregnancy.

avoid massive exposure to the sun during the period of using St John's-wort, because this plant makes the skin more sensitive to the sun's rays.

Diet may relieve depression :

Foods rich in carbohydrates help relieve depression  and anxiety by boosting the amount of serotonin in the body.

So it is advisable to eat more biscuits, bread, pasta, sunflower and pumpkin, as well as evening primrose.

A popular antidepressant medication has been known to help the body boost serotonin.

A diet rich in vitamins B :

To maintain high levels of neurotransmitters that help relieve depression and anxiety, it is recommended to eat foods rich in vitamins B6 and B12 in addition to folate,

Folate is concentrated especially in navy beans, pinto seeds, asparagus, spinach, broccoli, okra.

Vitamin B6 is found in broccoli, watercress, spinach, turnip, and radish.

amino acids Phenylalanine (which have been proven worth by adding vitamin B6 to improve mood without side effects) can also be obtained by eating sunflower seeds, black beans, watercress, soybeans. 

Ginkgo (ginkgo biloba)
This herb helps fight depression and anxiety, as it stimulates blood flow to the brain especially for the elderly.
According to European studies, the use of standard ginkgo leaves is beneficial for the various symptoms associated with aging, including memory loss and poor blood circulation.
Ginkgo is available in healthy food stores in a 50: 1 extract, and is recommended to take 60 to 240 milligrams daily, and any increase above that may cause diarrhea, restlessness and irritation.

Ginger :

Ginger is well known historically and popularly for treating anxiety and depression, and it can be mixed with other herbs having the same effect so that the result will be effective.

Purslane :

Purslane herb helps relieve depression and anxiety, due to its richness in magnesium and potassium minerals.

In fact, magnesium and potassium have effective anti-depressive effects, and the purslane contains 16% of the anti-depressants compounds.

Rosemary :

Rosemary is an aromatic plant recommended for treating depression and anxiety, as it contains compounds that stimulate the central nervous system.

It can be used by adding a few drops to a vegetable oil or a massage solution.

Recipes with apple juice and vinegar, honey and chamomile :

For nervous soothing drink :

Prepare a cup of chamomile tea and, put two teaspoons of chamomile blossom in a cup and pour boiling water for ten minutes, then filtered.

Take this soothing blend to treat stress and depression and help the body relax.

For treatment of insomnia :

Insomnia is usually the result of stress, depression, or excessive drinking of coffee or tea before going to sleep.
Put two tablespoons of each apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass of warm water and drink in the evening about an hour before bedtime.
